Part Time Teacher (Referred to an IS)

Start Date: August 5, 2024

Available during Day Shift

Student Load - 25 to 35 students

Hours:  Up to 25 hours/week as needed   - Hourly Rate:  $29.80 per hour

  • Monitoring student progress across courses
  • Communicates with student and family weekly for progress monitoring
  • Ability to use Video Conferencing for communication
  • Easily accessible to students and families by phone and email
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Ability to answer questions for current and prospective students
  • Complete orientations with 24 hours of notification
  • Monitor student progress and attendance daily
  • Monitor extra learning opportunities (ELO) each week
  • Ability to close out completed courses and issue grades
  • Complete Course Grade Submission Form in timely manner
  • Keep up to date with academic warning letters, truancy letters, and AIP conferences
  • Proctor testing sessions (in person and remotely)
  • Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures
  • Complete appropriate reports for local, state, federal and educational agencies
  • Ensure that each student enrolled in the Virtual Instruction Program has accurate, up-to-date records
  • Refer students who are not complying with course or program policies to the site administrator for necessary interventions
  • Alert site administrator when a student, parent, or guidance counselor fails to respond to attempts to communicate
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals
  • Work with students, parents, and schools in a positive, proactive manner
  • Provide direct consultation and guidance to students and parents on matters relating to courses, procedures, and learning strategies
  • Participate in professional training as scheduled by administration
  • Participate in scheduled meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Requirements

  • Current Ohio Teaching License
  • Bachelor Degree in education
  • Valid Driver’s License

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Participate in community-based extracurricular activities as requested
  • Assist in providing information to community groups, schools, or parents about the Virtual Instruction Program
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online learning
  • Preference will be given to candidates with administrative experience

Instructional Supervisor Checklist

  • Orientation Complete for all students
  • Did student login to CLASSES after orientation?
  • Check weekly attendance in classroom (divide students into different days of the week)
  • Check the balance between ELO and Academic Progress
  • Approve ELO’s on a weekly basis
  • Set up a Zoom with groups or individual students on minimum monthly basis - document in Maestro
  • If testing on Zoom --  document in Maestro
  • Meeting with parents due to lack of academic progress
  • During scheduled administrative zoom meetings, update administrator on student progress
  • AIP:  Meetings set up for lack of attendance
  • Communication with Parents a minimum of once a month - Positive Calls/Notes go a long way!
